Why are we a different type of CPA practice?

We are a highly specialized international tax and accounting firm offering expert tax planning, compliance, and accountancy services for foreign businesses operating in the U.S.

We have over 30 years’ experience dealing with the complexities of U.S. tax laws. We bring to the table extensive knowledge of the US’s worldwide network of double tax treaties (“DTA’S”).

We also provide individual tax services to foreign nationals in the U.S. and Americans living and working overseas. This is where we can really add value. We thrive on finding the most effective tax solutions and ensuring the most tax efficient results.

Because of our expertise in the area of international tax planning, we often receive referrals from the Big Five global accountancy firms as well as from banks and investment companies. This is especially true when expat employees transfer to local terms and conditions and may therefore lose internal benefits such as gratis tax advice and preparation services.

Some questions for you

Are you being audited by the IRS or by your State tax authority?

We can handle the questions and negotiate a settlement or other closure on your behalf.

Have you overlooked reporting a foreign financial account such as a bank, brokerage, pension, ISA or annuity?

We can help you address a ‘delinquency’ working with the IRS’s new “streamlined offshore or onshore procedures”. Don’t wait for the IRS to catch you out with an undeclared Swiss bank account, the penalties can be harsh and you could even be prosecuted for not reporting foreign assets.

Do you want to better understand the implications of a particular US double tax treaty (“DTA”)?

We have the knowledge and experience to answer those questions and advise on how to use treaty provisions to your advantage.

Do you have foreign income or suffer foreign withholding tax on overseas income? Want to know how to claim a foreign tax credit in the US? Have a question on US withholding tax?

We have the answers and can provide expert advice.

Do you wish to set up a US business?

We can advise on the best type of set up for you and in which State to set up. It could be a corporation, an LLC, a Partnership. Or, if you are foreign owned it could be a US Subsidiary or a Branch of your Foreign Company.

Do you have Transfer pricing issues?

We can advise on how to approach them and will work with in-house financial managers and home base Accountants to find the best approach to satisfy the tax authorities in the US and overseas.

Have you ever considered moving overseas and giving up your US tax status?

The US taxes its citizens and residents on their worldwide income. It is possible, but it can be a minefield, for citizens and long term (more than 7 years) Green Card holders to exit the U.S. in a tax efficient manner. We can assist you in reviewing the possibility and advising on the reporting obligations and handle the IRS reporting needs for you.

Are you a US Taxpayer working abroad?

If so, do you know how to claim an exemption for a significant portion of your foreign wages or for your foreign housing costs? Are you paying tax in the Country of your Assignment? Do you know how to claim the maximum possible credit for foreign taxes paid? We can assist you and prepare all the necessary calculations to ensure that your US tax is reduced or eliminated completely legally.
